Autumn Wedding at Junebug Retro Resort

Have I mentioned my emergency kit? When you get a freak early cold spell your first fall wedding of the season, it pays to be prepared! The fleece lined flesh colored leggings I keep in my kit, helped this gorgeous, funky, funny bride warm up and feel comfortable. It’s hard to be fully present on your wedding day when your shivering!

Krystal, this fun bride, found the most adorable retro wedding dress with a sheer cape, that perfectly showcased her badass back tattoos. She is very close with her mom & brother, and they all have tattoos that honor their close knit family. Krystal’s dad passed away some years back and she commemorated him throughout the wedding, with lockets on her bouquet, & photos at a place of honor. Her brother had a heart warming first look with her & walked her down the aisle, throwing flowers from a fanny pack!

Daniel, the groom, completely lit up when he saw Krystal coming down the aisle. The depth of love and sincere emotion was so evident in his eyes as he gazed at her. Daniel is a mechanic and classic car lover. They had an epic exit driving away in his vintage car! Then we snuck away for family portraits, and some newly wed pictures. JuneBug Retro Resort, just north of Asheville, in Weaverville, North Carolina, is an adorable wedding venue. There are campers that the wedding party can get ready in, or stay at for the wedding- so no worrying about driving after partying! It also has lots of great locations for photos-a playground, swinging bridge, hammocks, etc.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Charlene, who runs the venue & organizes everything, is! She handles all situations with an upbeat attitude & grace-she doesn’t get frazzled, she finds solutions. She is thoughtful & considerate, both for her employees and her guests, and she may very well dance into the night with you. She makes sure everything gets done, and is fun.

One thing I love about small weddings, is they allow me to capture more of the guests multiple times to show how their night goes. Krystal’s mom really threw down, I see where Krystal gets it from-they can really dance!! Daniel does some wedding DJ’ing on the side. He & Krystal put together an awesome playlist. Lots of 90’s & 2000’s pop & hip hop, kept people moving & smiling. There were tons of moments for great photos of them goofing off with their friends. I sincerely enjoyed meeting everyone there, they were all so jovial and lighthearted. Congratulations Krystal & Daniel. You two are a perfect pair and I hope you have many more occasions to celebrate & dance the night away with your outstanding group of friends & family!
